Storyboard

We were asked to create a storyboard, made up of only 6 images using the techniques we have learnt.

Photography has enabled us to see the invisible and capture time. Photography made people realize that you can become aware that there is life outside a frame.

Story Structure:

Beginning - The world, the character and introduce the PROBLEM (ordinary world)
Middle - Struggle, protagonist tries to achieve what they want .. roughly three obstacles
- the protagonist must take risks! (special world)

How do you link these obstacles?
Cause a much bigger obstacle from the first one!
The story must flow ..
End - RESOLUTION (ordinary world)

What each image portrays.

1.The main character which is the boy is placed in the front of the image, however the eye is drawn to the girl behind which is a hint of the problems to come. Note how the boy is emptying his pockets and has no money. It is clear that he likes the girl, but has no way of impressing her with no money.

 

2 + 3. He has two different personalities, one good and one bad. He tries to think of a way to make money. Instead if listening to the angel, the boy listens to the devil. the devil tells him to rob a house for money.

 

4. He successfully gets the goods but ...

 

5. His struggle is that the window is stuck when he attempts to escape from the house.

 

6. The Resolution is that we find out that he was in fact robbing the girls house. Which was foreshadowed in the first image.

 

 

Photography - LBM

 

 

During the first day on Len Based Media we were asked to take pictures of things or objects around the school which convey, jump, fall, happy, sad, echo and crush. I used my imagination to present these images and feel that some of them were more successful than others.

 

Day 3 of Graphics - Final Day

 

 

 

On day three our task was to present ourselves in the future. Building on ideas that we have discussed and have experimented with as to what graphics can be, we now were able to create a presentation of ourselves. This should include text. We were asked to consider the use of space, scale, colour, texture, typography and contrast.

 

We were give a starting point of the 2033.

 

Day One of LBM ( Lens Based Media )

Before day one of Lens Based Media we were asked to take pictures that explore "memories within your environment". This can be areas that you could consider your likes and hates, your family, friends, most treasured possessions, your greatest fears and dreams, the world in which you personally inhabit.

 

I took a picture of my draw in my bedroom. this draw holds many memories of my past, both happy and sad.

 

On day one of LBM we were asked to work from a single image that we have chosen, then redraw it on an A1 sheet. Then were asked to crop the image and rework the image considering how meaning and interpretation can change. We just simply used pieces of paper to crop the image. As you can see from the images below each image represents something different.

 

 

Day Two of Graphic Design

 

Today was really interesting as we looked at words and type graphics, through fast paced experiments with paints, markers, papers, type forms, prints, looking at many ways of rendering graphic marks and messages from something so simple.

We were asked to focus on  the alphabet and numbers to create something our own version. This can be done by cutting up paper, rolling or scrunching up paper, using different mediums etc.

 

Here I experimented using graphite pencil, colour pastels, scrunching paper and folding paper.

 

 

 

I was quite satisfied with the outcome. instead of just doing the basic alphabet I merged both alphabet and numbers together as you can see from the images above. The numbers one and two also make up the letter 'a'.

Number three is drawn to look like the letter 'b'. Number four is drawn to look like the letter 'c'. Cool right?!

 

Here I drew the whole alphabet and merged the numbers from one to ten.

Development of Graphic design

 

 

We were told to create a viewfinder and place it on top of the face collage we made. However instead of just placing it anywhere on the collage we had to place it in an interesting place. Then we had to draw a 20cm square and carefully draw what is seen in the viewfinder.
